GENERAL:

Each player gets 1 point for each ball made of their group, and 2 points for the 8 ball. If you make an opponent’s ball, you have made a point for them. (Exception; Runs or 8 on the break are automatic 9 point to 0).

FOUR POINT PENALTY RULE: If a player scratches when shooting the 8 ball, makes it in the wrong pocket, or knocks it in in the middle of the game they lose 4 points off the points they have already made. (if 6 you are shooting the 9 ball and scratch or knock it in the wrong pocket, you lose 3-9, you don’t get credit for pocketing the 8 in this case). Their opponent gets and automatic 9 points.

If the 8 ball is made by a player before their group of balls are made, the 4 point penalty rule applies. The winner of any game is scored as a 9 regardless of how they won unless a special ruling has been made by PWPL if certain circumstances arise due to conduct or emergencies.
